At first glance, the Pace 500 may not be what you expect from a bike advertised as a cruiser. Long, retro-styled frames & large, sweeping handlebars are notably absent from the Pace series, and what you get is something that looks more like an electric commuter bike.

Don’t let that put you off, however. The Aventon Pace 500 is a very capable e-Bike. From a powerful 500W motor, to its LCD display & comfortable ride, this Pace easily matches the performance you’d expect from cruisers but without the price tag.

Efficiency

Given its lighter weight, road tyres, and lack of suspension, you’ll find that this bike is easily capable of getting you 75km on a single charge when cycling on Pedal-Assist level 1.

Weighing in at 23.5kg, even if you are unlucky enough to run out of battery, the Pace 500 is still a comfortable bike to pedal without the use of an electric motor.

Frame

The battery is now integrated seamlessly into the aluminium alloy frame. This gives the bike a very sleek look. The step through frame is particularly helpful for anyone with limited mobility.

Speed & Throttle

Just like other Aventon models, the Pace comes with an integrated thumb throttle that can be used independently to move you forward without the need for pedalling.

The speedometer is located in the LCD screen mounted in the middle of the handlebars, which presents other information such as range, and the number of trees you’ve saved riding an e-Bike instead of driving.

Braking

From 20kph to standstill, the Pace 500 is able to stop in around 3.5 metres thanks to its Tektro hydraulic disc brakes.

Hill Climb Ability

The Pace’s 500W motor is capable of tackling most of the hills you’d find in an urban environment on throttle-power alone, but even the most inexperienced rider can climb long, steep hills on pedal assist level 5 while still being able to hold a conversation with company on the way up.
