The Segway Power Cube is currently available in two variants: Cube 1000 (1kWh) and Cube 2000 (2kWh). For the sake of this comparison blog, we will only focus on the Cube 2000.

Bluetti Portable Power

Among these, perhaps the most popular is the AC200MAX, a portable power station with a continuous output of 2200W. It is expandable up to 6kWh or 8kWh and has the capacity to power a wide range of appliances and devices. 

Segway Power Cube 2000 vs. Bluetti AC200MAX

Both the Segway Power Cube 2000 and the Bluetti AC200MAX are mighty contenders when it comes to portable power, but we’re keen to discover the differences that set these two power stations apart.

Battery

The Segway Power Cube comes with its own LiFePO4 Battery, developed in-house by the brand. It's been rigorously tested to endure over 4000 cycles, which is equivalent to more than a decade of typical usage. The battery also meets UL 1642 standards for both safety and longevity.

Likewise, the Bluetti AC200MAX is equipped with a dependable LiFePO4 Battery, albeit with a slightly shorter lifespan, tested to endure over 3,500 cycles.

Verdict:

Both power stations boast safe and durable LiFePO4 batteries, but the Segway Power Cube wins this match for having a longer battery life. 

Expandability

As mentioned earlier, the Segway Power Cube stands out for offering expandability without the need for cumbersome cords or cables. Its modular design allows for expansion up to 5 kWh without any cumbersome cables, which makes it ideal for both home and outdoor use.

The Bluetti AC200MAX also allows for expansion, reaching a maximum capacity of 6 kWh. However, unlike the Segway Power Cube, this expansion requires additional cords, which may make it less portable than desired.

Verdict:

Expandability is a key feature that the Segway Power Cube 2000 and the Bluetti AC200MAX share. Opt for the Segway Power Cube for true portability, or choose the Bluetti if greater capacity is your priority.

Capacity, Input, and Output

Aside from expandability, the Segway Power Cube 2000 and the Bluetti AC200MAX also share the same capacity: 2048 Wh. However, despite sharing the same capacity, the two power stations differ when it comes to input and output. 

The Segway Power Cube has a maximum AC input of 1250W, while the Bluetti AC200MAX allows up to 500W. Both power stations are capable of solar charging (800W for the Segway and 900W for the Bluetti).

UPS Function

A UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) feature allows your power station to supply backup power to connected devices or equipment during power outages. Thus, it protects your appliances by allowing them to remain operational until they can be safely shut down.

The Bluetti's shell is constructed from flame-retardant ABS plastic, which suggests a level of heat resistance. However, there is currently no information about specific drop tests or certifications related to impact resistance.

The Bluetti AC200MAX appears reasonably durable for everyday use. However, the lack of water and drop resistance means you need to avoid exposing it to moisture and harsh conditions—less than ideal if your purpose is to use the power station outdoors.

For frequent travellers and campers, it’s also important to assess the power station's portability, including its weight, size, and ease of carrying.

The Segway Power Cube 2000 weighs 21.6 kg and has these dimensions: 35.4 x 28.9 x 39.9 cm. On the other hand, the Bluetti weighs heavier at 28.1 kg and is slightly bigger, with dimensions of 42 x 28 x 38.65 cm.

For those who prioritise portability and mobility, the Segway Power Cube's lighter weight and smaller dimensions might be advantageous. This could be especially relevant for frequent travel or situations requiring storage in limited spaces.
