    FAQ

    Close

What is the top speed of the Apollo Explore?

Yes, when the scooter arrives to you it will be locked to 25 kph. But you can easily unlock real top speed of 50kmh in the P Settings. You will need to adjust P08 to 100. The settings are easily accessed by holding the power and the mode button down at the same time.

Does the Apollo Explore have a Zero Start function?

Yes, by default the Apollo Explore will accelerate as soon as you press the throttle, without kicking the scooter forward manually first.

Can the Apollo Explore handlebars height be adjusted?

Yes, you can adjust the height of the handlebars higher or lower to suit the needs of the rider. The handlebars on the Apollo Explore also fold making it easy to carry and transport.

Why does the Apollo Explore have 2 charging ports?

The Apollo Explore has two charging ports because you have the option of using 2 regular chargers to reduce charging time. Similarly, you can get the shorter charging time by using 1 fast charger.

    Is the Apollo Explore portable?

Yes, the Apollo Explore is portable, and is one of the most powerful portable scooters on the market. You can clip and carry the scooter by the stem and while it's not the lightest scooter on the market, most people should be able to easily carry it over short distances. Additionally, the Apollo Explore has adjustable handlebars and stem height, so you can put it easily in the back of a carboot, camper trailer or caravan.

How do you use the Apollo Explore regular charger versus the fast charger?

The Apollo Explore comes with 1 regular charger which you can use to charge the scooter. It takes about 9 hours for it to fully charged. If you use 2 regular chargers at the same time, you can shorten the charge time to 4-5 hours. 1 fast charger can do the same 4-5 hours charging time, but it has to be used alone. Don't use 2 fast chargers at the same time or a fast charger + a normal charger at the same time as this will damage the scooter.

Does the Apollo Explore need to be registered?

No, the Apollo Explore does not need to be registered.

Do you do repairs on the Apollo Explore?

Yes, we do repairs and servicing for the Apollo Explore over at our service centre at Vermont. You will have to leave your scooter with us for a few days. Please book an appointment by calling directly 0452054257 or using the booking link here https://calendly.com/electric-kicks/

Can you ride the Apollo Explore off road?

While the Apollo Explore is designed for commuting, it can be ridden off-road thanks to its strong 1000W motor and 10-inch all terrain pneumatic tyres. We recommend not riding in heavy dirt, rocks or mud as this can damage the scooter.

There's a rubbing/grinding sound near the brakes. Is this normal?

The rubbing/grinding noise near the brakes can sometimes occur with new Apollo Explores. But there’s an easy fix. Lift up your scooter so the wheels are elevated. Make sure that the handlebars are placed in a way that there is no unnecessary tension on the brake handles. Then, power on your scooter and make the wheels turn. Slam both brakes at the same time to recalibrate the calipers. That should fix the noise issue. If you want a visual guide, please watch this video from Apollo:

How do you reach maximum speed on the Apollo Explore?

First, you will need to go to P Settings by pressing Power and Mode button simultaneously. Cycle through until you reach P08 and adjust it to 100. During your ride, make sure you're on Gear 3 to reach the top speed. Please note that top speed can be affected by rider weight, terrain, and other riding factors.

Does the Apollo Explore come with a warranty?

Yes, we offer 12 months warranty + 12-month cost price, servicing, and spare parts for Apollo scooters here in Australia. Please see our warranty page for more info.

Is stem wobble normal on the Apollo Explore?

Please check that the stem is fully locked in place. The locking pin at the bottom of the stem should be firmly slotted in to lessen the wobble. To do this, try stepping on the deck and pushing the stem forward as far as it can go. You should hear a click when the lock is securely in place. Also note that the stem does have a little bit of wobble as standard.

Can I use the Apollo Explore as a manual kickscooter?

You can use the scooter manually for emergency situations like when you run out of battery.

Is the Apollo Explore a good fit for tall people?

Yes, the Apollo Explore's stem is 100 cm in height.
