DESCRIPTION
Aventures have long been hailed as phenomenal electric bikes given their low price point when compared with other fat tyre electric bikes. They were praised for the excellent build quality, firm ride, great features, and top-tier performance. The Aventure.2 Step Over is no different, so everything that makes Aventure’s best-sellers can be found on the latest model.
On the Aventure.2 you’ll find the same 750W motor, the same Tektro hydraulic 180mm disc brakes, the same removable battery, the same thumb throttle and five pedal assist modes, a similar shaped 6061 double-butted aluminium frame, and the same stable, shake-free ride quality.
However, the Aventure.2 Step Over comes with some new features as well.
The biggest change on the Aventure.2 is the new torque sensor. Unlike its predecessor's cadence sensor, the Aventure.2’s drive train compliments your natural riding style by powering the motor based on how hard you pedal. This means you can go faster when you need it, but slow down when you want. The torque sensor provides a natural & responsive ride that offers greater control and smoother acceleration.
As torque sensors dynamically apply power when it’s needed, the motor isn’t as draining on the battery. This means you’ll be able to go further despite the new and old Adventures sharing the same battery.
Unlike most electric bikes on the market, the Aventure.2 Step Over comes with a rear rack included in the box. This rack is capable of supporting 25kg of weight, which is about the same as five 5-litre water bottles, or the average suitcase on a plane.
The rear light housing on the original Aventure was only featured on the left, which wasn’t ideal for Australian roads. However, the Aventure.2 Step Over features rear lights that double as brake lights on both sides of the frame. On top of that, the same housing features two indicator lights that auto-cancel after 15 seconds, greatly improving the overall safety of the unit when riding on shared roads.
The Aventure.2 Step Over shares the same 750W motor of its predecessor. With a peak power output of 1100W, it’s powerful enough to carry riders to 45 kph on its highest pedal assist mode, or 30kph on the throttle alone.
The Aventure.2 Step Over is an incredibly versatile ride. Its fat 26’ x 4’ puncture resistant tyres provide a grippy & stable ride on all terrain types including loose ground such as sand and snow. While its 35kg weight makes it a little harder to use as a commuter for smaller riders & tight streets, you can do just about anything else with it. Cycle across the beach. Navigate forest & woodland trails. Go where roads don’t take you.

The Aventure.2 features a bright, full-colour display that shows your current speed, distance traveled, and pedal assist level. It also reminds you of your current battery levels and syncs up your ebike to the Aventon app.
The Aventure.2 suspension allows for 80mm of travel, so you know you're getting the best comfort even on the roughest trails.
The Aventure.2 showcases an integrated front headlight, rear brake lights that activate each time you pull the brake lever, plus new turn indicators to alert those behind that you're turning.
The Aventure.2 has four-inch puncture-resistant tyres that can withstand even the harshest trails and allow you to go further than you've been before.
Enjoy four levels of Pedal Assist on the Aventon Aventure.2 and a throttle that minimises energy used to get you where you want to go.
So my bike arrived faster than predicted, Friday instead of the Monday according to tracking, which was great. Unfortunately the screen stopped working after about 1 minute and basic troubleshooting did nothing.
Support was engaged and although a replacement screen was eventually sent, the support via email was longer than it should have been as I clearly explained the fault, and troubleshooting steps I had performed up front. Support was not bad, just could be better.
New screen arrived and was swapped onto bike, which did the trick.
The Bike.
What a great bike. Well balanced, lovely to ride, comfortable seat, nice controls.
The gears are great.
I did get a E25 error on my first ride, which was frustrating, but after some fluffing around (turn off bike, turn back on a few times) it went away and i was able to ride home with power. Aventon have pretty good support pages on their site and I was able to adjust brake sensor sensitivity very easily which fixed the issue.
The front brake is sometimes noisy, but I'll live with that for now as it's probably another easy adjustment I need to make. But the bike itself, great. Levels of pedal assist are fantastic, power provided is smooth, and throttle works brilliantly. You can switch between power assist and throttle at will while riding, which is great for "cheating" when you want a break from pedalling. On steep hills you need to boost power assist and be mindful of gear selection as it did not offer as much assist to my 96kg old body as I thought it would. But that was quite steep. Otherwise, power is plentiful and the bike is a pure joy to ride.
Will be getting the missus a step through one as soon as I have enough coins put aside.
All in all, a very, very nice quality bike I am extremely happy with after the initial frustration of being shipped one with a dud screen.

The Aventure 2: My Best E-Bike Experience So Far
I've had the chance to ride several e-bikes, including the Pace and Level 2 (both fantastic!), but the Aventure 2 is the best e-bike I've ridden so far. Its combination of style and reliability makes it perfect for commuting, as well as for riding on different surfaces like gravel.
Customer Service Experience
I had a great experience with customer service when I wanted to use an alternative payment method instead of my credit card. Juan Onatef was extremely helpful in resolving the issue, and everything was handled smoothly. I also reached out via the chat feature on the website and received prompt assistance from Alyssa, which was another positive experience.
The Bike
The Aventure 2 is impressive. I've also tried the Pace 300 and Level 2, and this brand continues to prove itself as the best for e-bikes. They're solid, reliable, powerful, and stylish.
For my needs, the Aventure 2 is perfect. It’s comfortable for commuting and performs exceptionally well on non-paved roads thanks to its sturdy build, flat wheels, and powerful motor. I highly recommend it!
The Aventon Adv2 is a brilliant all-rounder with top notch performance and endurance, head turning but non-ostentatious presentation, and an outstanding value package. I was impressed by the innovative and sustainable packaging it arrived in (a week earlier than expected) and the easy assembly instruction video. On arrival the bike had a defective rear tube - but Electric Kicks promptly reimbursed me for the expense of repair and replacement. Very happy with the experience and the bike.
Great experience dealing with electric kicks from the beginning to the end. Delivered within 36hrs, lots of useful information and tips, great communication and support.
After 600km commuting to work over the last 3 weeks this bike has not skipped a beat. Very solid build, no sqeeaks or rattles, it's a smooth and comfortable ride. Plenty of power to get me to and from work effortlessly with loads of torque from the throttle and power behind the pedal assist. Breaks are very responsive and powerful. Can get 30km from 1 battery charger with little assistance. If I can get a spare battery I think I'll get many years of reliable use out of it.
