Monorim F Series Premium front Suspension

Having suspension in the front is a must for long rides. This is as good as it can get for the ninebot f series and it's pretty decent. The instructions are an online video. Rather vague, bad camera angles and parts are not shown clearly. Saying that, once it is figured out, it's a very cool mod. However, be prepared to buy a clamp if you don't have one. Rubber mallet helps too. That top pin is a pain to put through the stem unless you squeeze the top suspension clamp hard down. Being a snug fit, the stem is solid at least and no wobble.

Installed the monorim suspension a week ago and after a bit of a “break-in” period, can definitely say it was worth it. There’s not much of a difference if you’re on the road but when travelling on uneven pavement it’s nice to know that if I hit a bump it’s not going to launch me into space.

The installation isn’t as straightforward as you might think and if you do have at least bush-mechanic level skills, you’re probably going to have trouble.

There’s no installation instructions and the video tutorial isn’t that great either.

But if you’re still want to go ahead, here are my tips:

1) You can skip the step of disconnecting the wheel from the controller. It’s a little bit more fiddly and you just have to snap a bit of plastic but it’s doable

2) Use a vice/ multigrip to crack the wheel nuts. Bit of WD40 will be helpful too.

The upgrade suspension kit is complete with all the parts needed. Shipping was very fast.
I bought it for the Segway F40 but the colour decals and anodised parts do not match the F40's. It looks aftermarket.
Otherwise the parts are good quality and when installed correctly, everything fits perfectly. Getting the right tension on the bearing clamps takes a bit of time. Once sorted though, it's stable and remains tight.
When riding, there is a noticeable improvement in the ride. The harshness over cracks and uneven pavement is reduced.

Well constructed and easy to fit, but a specific video for the front-wheel-drive systems would be appreciated. Not much different, but you do have to cut off the old surround, and I’m not sure how to get the column completely tight again. The second time around, I still have some wobble in the column.
The suspension is excellent at reducing big bumps and up and down the road/footpaths that are not exactly matched, has vastly improved my half-hour commute to and from work.
The price was great, and the shipping was fantastic. I am looking forward to getting more gear from Electric kicks.
